Tera Maxwell is certified healing practicioner in Calyco HealingTM. A PhD candidate in English literature, she defends her dissertation in fall 2010 at the University of Texas at Austin. Tera is a published academic writer who taught English at the university for four years before the arrival of her two children.
Ironically, her dissertation steered her to energy work. Her research on Imperial Remains: Memories of Philippine-United States Relations brought her to a discovery of the babaylans, an ancient indigenous tradition in which women were the spiritual healers in their communities. As a mother of small children, Tera juggled dissertative work, habitual fatigue, and her husband's four corporate relocations in five years. After a friend offered to assist her with a Calyco HealingTM session, Tera experienced immediate results-- from her writing and academic goals to her son’s recurrent nightwakings. Soon after, she studied Calyco HealingTM under Carolyn Cooper to learn this fast and effective technique.
After studying Calyco, she realized that her soul’s design--being a teacher and writer and inspiring others to live soul-optimal lives--resonated more with work as an energy coach than life as a university professor.
In her spare time she enjoys writing creative non-fiction, particularly about family history, seeking spiritual knowledge, playing outdoors with her family, and training for triathlons.
“We are here to experience joy. If we are not radiating joy, energy, and health on a consistent basis, there may be some blocks that simply need clearing. Calyco Healing is an simple, easy, and immediate way to get aligned with one’s core truths and purpose.” Tera Maxwell
